The third ‘Bashundhara Cup Golf Tournament 2018′ came to a successful end amid gala festivity and prize giving ceremony at Savar Golf Club in Savar Cantonment on Saturday.
The three-day long event started on January 25, sponsored by country’s largest business conglomerate Bashundhara Group.
Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan graced the final day of the tournament with his presence.
A total of 300 golfers including local and foreign players participated in the prestigious tournament.
Golfer Rana Shahid Hassan clinched the title in overall category.

title, Mehedi Hasan bagged the super senior
title, AFM Sarowar Kamal clinched veteran title and Miss Fathima Afra won the ladies category title.

Abdul Wahed was present on the closing ceremony as the special guest and also distributed prizes.
Chairman of tournament committee of Savar Golf Club Brig Gen Mohd Hossain Al Morshed alongside distinguished members of Savar Golf Club and other senior Army officials also attended the final meet.

He added that Bashundhara Group is providing sponsorship in various sporting events such as cricket, football, table tennis, swimming, hockey and so on. He mentioned that the group’s cricket team Rangpur Riders won the Bangladesh Premier League title and entertained the people of whole country last year.
“The group also owns country’s two renowned football clubs – Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra and Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club. They are doing well in their respective sector,” Wahed further added.
The eventful ceremony ended with a raffle draw where the participating golfers and guests won many attractive prizes, provided by the Bashundhara Group.
