
The country’s highest circulated daily, Bangladesh Pratidin , steps into its fifth year of publication today (Saturday).
On the occasion, a giant birthday cake was cut by Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan at the conference room of the East West Media Complex yesterday evening.
The Bangladesh Pratidin editor Naim Nizam, executive editor Pir Habibur Rahman and journalists and employees of the paper greeted the chairman with a bouquet. Present at the function were among others banglanews24.com editor –in- Chief Alamgir Hossain, daily sun editor Amir Hossain, Kaler Kantho executive editor Mostofa Kamal, Adviser (Press and Media) Mohammad Abu Tayeb, and Bangladesh Pratidin Adviser Kamrul Huq Shamim.
The journalists and employees thanked the chairman for implementing the 8th wage board award.
In a short speech Ahmed Akbar Sobhan praised the role of the journalists and employees of Bangladesh Pratidin in taking it to the highest position.
He advised them to be objective in reporting and to refrain from making false reporting under any circumstances.
He also asked them to project the problems any grievances of the people so that the government’s attention is drawn to those and it can take steps for remedy.
On the occasion of the founding anniversary a day-long programme will be arranged today.
To mark the occasion, East West Media building has been decorated colorfully along with installing lighting system.
